What do you do for a living??

I thought it would be neat to see what kinds of professions/jobs people here have. Could be interesting. Ya never know.Beer

I run the projectors at 3 different theatres in my city and train/test all the other wanna-be projectionists. I'm that guy up behind the window running your movie for ya and making sure it is out of focusRaspberry.....

Ok-so watch, now nobody else will answer and I will look like a dork....

Well I am one of several IT freaks here in the forum. Computer Desktop & Network Support Tech. On the side I run a web development business in order to afford some luxuries such as a wife and a daughter.

By night I transform myself into Sorentosite.com Admin Almighty. All hail the Admin.

About 10 years ago I used to deliver and pick up the prints from the theatres and I had some random guy offer me $20,000 to "borrow" a print of the first Batman for "about 2 hours". It was tempting but I kept thinking about the big FBI warnings I always see in the film cans.....Besides, it is very easy to track a print now since they hide an id# in each print...They have some way of seeing it on bootleg copies...It will identify what theatre it came from...

Obviously I'm a mechanic. I also have three mechanics that I supervise, but the difficult jobs are where most of my time is spent. We work on the cars "fresh off the boat" before your dealer gets them. We also perform any work that could eventually become a recall (like the clocks and the tank sensors)

I also do car audio/security on the side.

RE: What do you do for a living??

I am an RGM (Restaurant General Manger) for Pizza Hut in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. I went to the University of Pittsburgh and graduated with a double major in MIS (Management Information Systems) and Business Management. When I graduated in 03 there were no jobs of any kind available, and I was already a manager for another national pizza chain, so I just switched companies. While it is not what I wanted to do with my life, I actually like the job, and especially the type of people that I work with. The pay could be a lot better (I need more money for more mods...lol). For hobbies I post incessantly here, I spend a lot of time with aquariums and aquaculture, I breed Guinea Pigs, I am a closet audiophile, Love car stereos, weekend mechanic, etc. I am a Mensan (but I haven't paid my dues in years so.....), and I spend a lot of time doing "unofficial" counseling and relationship guidance (I studied Psychology for many years and almost had a triple major)........but I always find time for sorentosite.com and to complain about anything and everything, to anyone who will listen.

I am the CTO (head of IT and anything with a plug on it) for a disrtbution company. Which gives me responsibility for the day to day running of all the infrastructure, data integrity and the web based business app which runs the whole business. I was the system architect for the app and did some of the dev work in it too.
