20" wheel/tire question
Come spring the Sorento is going to be rolling on a set of 20's. I have a couple of wheels in mind but have a question. Can I run a wheel that's 9" wide with a off set of 18 with a 265-45-20 tire or will it rub?

I don't know about the rubbing, but, if you don't have the side cladding, they will probably be sticking out a bit

RE: 20" wheel/tire question
I think it will be very tight. I'm running 8x18's with a 35mm offset and they pretty much fill the arches (see garage pictures), I'm guessing but I suspect an 18mm offset will stick out too far cladding or not ? Bry.

RE: 20" wheel/tire question
True they will more than likely stick out. Forgot all about that. Thanks guys. Plan B is going to be a 8.5" wide 25 off set running 265/45's.

RE: 20" wheel/tire question
I've just been outside & checked my wheels against your proposed offset, it'll be tight but they should just sit about level, maybey poking out about 3/4mm with the edge of the cladding ? They will look huge, which is nice.

RE: 20" wheel/tire question
Heya 07,
I have a 20x9 wheel on my Sorento and run a 275/40/20 Tire on it...
We tried the 275/45/20 but was rubbing against the shocks on full lock..

RE: 20" wheel/tire question
Ok so it looks like I'm gonna be ordering a set of 18X8 wheels from customsorento with an offset of 35. How would 265 60 18's fit on it?

RE: 20" wheel/tire question
I've got 255/60 General AT2's on my 18's and I get very slight rubbage on full lock (et 35 offset). I don't think you'll have too much trouble with the 265's, although I've got the Daystar 2" lift kit ? They won't make too much difference to the gearing (like fitting 265/70/16's), but remember that your spare tyre will be no good any more (wrong size - will eat a diff). Should look great when it's sorted ! Bry

RE: 20" wheel/tire question
Thanks for the info. I would really hate to get them on the truck to find out they rub too much.
What size tire are you 18" wheel guys running?

RE: 20" wheel/tire question
The standard size tyre for UK Sorento's fitted with 8 x 18" wheels is a 255/55.
