I may have an opportunity to get into an inexpensive porsche. I think the 928 is a stretch, but a 914 or 944 is realistic right now.

Anyone have experience with these? I know the history a bit about them but would love to know if the 914 is worth even having for a backroad weekend drive with my son or wife. I know it's a glorified VW, but it still says Porsche on the hood. The 944 would be cool. A cruiser for sure and not a go fast Porsche by an means.

Oh well, input is appreciated.
I had my bosses Boxster S out today with the top down going...well fast Eyebrow what a blast!!!
No fair. My boss has an Acura NSX and we had it out today. Why do the bosses have the go fast cars for fun?
dunno but I won't complain Big Grin
One of my college roomates had a 914 (lemon yellow) ... that car was a TON OF FUN!!! No acceleration to speak of, but awesome in the twisties! It was also cheap to own and easy to work on. If you want you can build the motors so the car has more guts, too.

Enjoy!
I've settled on the idea of a 914. It fits my budget and my love of "tinkering". If I can get past the birth of our Bambino in November and make it through to Next spring, I'll be ready to rock and roll on a purchase. Thanks for the input.
