So we are now into our second week and wonder how everyone else find the gass mileage on their Sorento?
17 mpg with mine. It costs me a fortune to fill it because I drive over 300 miles a week.
In my diesel I get 30 miles to the UK Gallon (10 pints) but I race everywhere
Never really checked, need to fill it up about four times a month for about $65cdn each time just driving around town. The Sorento is small and not overly heavy but the reason the gas mileage is a little high is because Kia decided to add that extra growl to the engine. You can hear it when you accelerate. It sounds good but it hurts when you fill up. With the new Lexus rx330 they put in a v6 engine with only 4 cylinders functioning unless the other two are needed. Also it is a hybrid engine so the mileage the new RX gives is amazing.

I've put about 2300 miles on mine so far. I drive at least 420 miles per week with a mix of highway and city being about 60/40. I LOVE the 5 speed auto. My wife's Jeep has a 4 spd auto and the gears are too far apart. Its either running the engine to fast or its lugging at low RPMs. I run at 60mph on the interstate and stay in the slow lane. I drive like I've got a raw egg between the pedal and my shoe. The engine shifts around 2100 to 2500 rpms. So far I'm squeezing 21mpg out of the Sorento. Its about what I can squeeze out of my wifes Liberty. All in all I'm pretty happy.
Side note about the speed. I ran a trip to the Texas Hill Country and back (300 mile round trip) and driving through small towns, and running down the highway at 70mph with cruise and AC on I averaged 17.8mpg. If running 10mph slower gets me there about 20 minutes later going one way and adds 40 to 45 minutes to my round trip, but gives me an extra 3.2mpg, I'll leave the house in plenty of time to get there.
In a city about 17 liters and hw 15 liters
